ABOUT THE WINE
San Patrime produces a range of excellent value wines from Pugliese local varieties.
TASTING NOTES
Wild cherry, cinnamon and sage aromas, with a hint of tobacco leaf. Soft tannin on the palate, with the same blend of red fruit and spice.
FOOD PAIRING
The spicy element makes this an excellent pairing for charcuterie or lamb dishes.
FRIARWOOD SAYS
Aged for 6 months in concrete vats. The name of the grape variety, Uva di Troia (Grape of Troy), refers to the legend that it was brought to the region by Diomedes, who fled the fall of Troy to find a settlement near the modern city of Canosa.
