Mezan, Jamaican Barrique XO Rum
ABOUT THE RUM
A blend of rums from two noble and historical distilleries: Hampden & Monymusk, This rum is a blend of casks from two distilleries in Jamaica: Monymusk and Hampden. Monymusk is one of the oldest sugar plantations in the country and both have a great reputation for producing top-quality distillates. The Mezan XO is a blend of rums aged 4 and 23 years, with a final re-marrying in cask to fully integrate them in a harmoniously homogenous blend.
TASTING NOTES
The nose greets with a loaf of tropical banana bread with a vanilla introduction, which then the nutty notes of peanut butter and burnt caramel start to come through with a touch of candied orange peel.
FOOD PAIRING
An absolute delight with medium-bodied cigars, but a great treat with caramelised & nutty desserts as well as chocolate.

Mezan rums are all 'unaltered', which means unsweetened, uncoloured, and unchill filtered. This purity comes through in the glass.
