ABOUT THE WINE
Stephane Vedeau took over the running of J. Boutin from his mother. The vines have to see Rhone to make good wines the local elders used to say, believing that the best terroirs are always close to the river where the vines survive on granite steep slopes. J. Boutin have an excellent location, one of the highest vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage, close to the river. Thanks to the granite soil and the altitude their wines develop a deeper complexity. There is no sulphite added and no clarification or filtration allowing the terroir to be fully expressed.
TASTING NOTES
Rich elegant red fruit and blackberry aromas complemented by stylish floral notes mainly violet. Good persistent fruit with light tannins and oak. Round of shape, silky, fresh and voluptuous: a wine of balance and harmony.
FOOD PAIRING
A succulent accompaniment to beef Wellington, Grouse and all
refined gourmet meats. Serve at room temperature.
