ABOUT THE WINE
Managed by Bertrand & Christiane Devillard and their children Amaury & Aurore since 1996, the Domaine des Perdrix, located in Côte de Nuits spread over 12 hectares in the best terroirs within the villages of Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The quality of the vineyards, their rigorous management and careful vinification have established the Domaine des Perdrix as a renowned producer of exceptional wines.

TASTING NOTES
Pretty ruby colour with purplish tints. Spicy and peppery notes on the nose, with blackberry fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine is rich and concentrated, yet delightfully fresh and pleasing to drink. Suave and silky on the finish.

FOOD PAIRING
Excellent with samosas, beef tenderloin, or with soft cheeses as Cîteaux or hard cheeses as Gouda or Tête de Moines. Also a good choice for meaty fish, like monkfish.

FRIARWOOD SAYS
May be kept in cellar for 5 to 8 years – the quality here is more akin to village wines, despite the humble Bourgogne appellation. Only available on allocation from the estate, and therefore in short supply…

Meaty pinot

I discovered this wine in a London restaurant and decided to buy a case of it for the cellar. A full-bodied, well extracted pinot that complements charcuterie and creamy cheese. Punches above its simple “Bourgogne” weight. Will drink well over the next ten years.
