ABOUT THE WINE
Château Guiraud, a Premier Grand Cru Classé in Sauternes, has undergone a remarkable transformation since its acquisition by Canadian Hamilton Narby in 1981. The estate spans 85 hectares on a hillside above the village of Sauternes, producing wines that harmoniously balance rich flavors with exceptional delicacy. The 2010 vintage exemplifies this balance, offering a luminous golden color with amber highlights, indicating good concentration and high aging potential.
TASTING NOTES
The 2010 Château Guiraud presents a rich and complex bouquet, with aromas of exotic fruits such as mango, pineapple, and passion fruit. On the palate, it is rich and unctuous, with tangy marmalade and quince notes, good depth, and fine tension.
FOOD PAIRING
This Sauternes pairs superbly with blue cheese, foie gras—either pan-fried or in a terrine—and seafood such as langoustines and scallops.
