2023 Marques de Arviza, Verdejo 'La Mision'

ABOUT THE WINE
Bodegas Marqués de Arviza is a traditional family winery and the second oldest one producing wines in La Rioja. Its facilities date back to 1874. They are one of the most deeply rooted Rioja producers in Spain. Meaning they possess the expertise to make quality wine not many are able to. Bodegas M.A. is their newest project in making typical and traditional Spanish wines without a denomination and hence on a more affordable front. This Verdejo is made in a fresh, protective style that preserves the gorgeous fruit and the salinity that is quintessential for this grape. Resulting wine proves that Spin can provide easy to drink, affordable wines that are brilliantly vibrant and complex at the same time.

TASTING NOTES
A wine that is dominant with its zingy freshness, on the nose, a pleasant mix of tropical fruits with fresh grass and fragrant fennel. In the palate the freshness is paired with some phenolic flavor intensity. It is long and persistent over time and its aftertaste reminds us, above all, of the tropical character of this variety.

FOOD PAIRING
Perfect pairing would be seafood. Especially with crab, scallops and octopus.
