ABOUT THE WINE
Château Potensac 2020 is a classic Médoc red, crafted by the renowned Delon family, owners of Léoville Las Cases. Situated on the Potensac plateau, this historic estate is planted with an unusually high proportion of Merlot for the region, resulting in a softer, more approachable style. Vinified with precision by the same expert team behind Clos du Marquis, the wine is aged for 14–16 months in seasoned French oak barrels, enhancing its depth and complexity.

TASTING NOTES
The 2020 vintage of Château Potensac is bold yet refined, offering aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and violets. The palate is structured with firm tannins and layers of dark fruit, liquorice, and graphite, balanced by a fresh minerality. Subtle hints of cedar and spice from oak ageing add further depth, while the finish is long and elegant, promising excellent ageing potential.

FOOD PAIRING
Pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as slow-cooked lamb, venison stew, or classic beef Wellington. Also an excellent match for aged cheeses and mushroom-based dishes.

this is such a great alternative from the european cabernet sauvignon. it's got great body but still not too overpowering. I hadn't had many non-french cabernet sauvignon and now im very glad Friarwood suggested this to me

I haven't tried many Carmenere wines before but I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. Very resembling of a Cabernet Sauvignon but with a bit more spice.
